FOCUS
I am a Registered Acupuncturist with the BC College of Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioners and Acupuncturists and have practiced since 2016. I have a Diploma in Acupuncture from Pacific Rim College in British Columbia and hold Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from Ontario universities.

My acupuncture and clinical training included: in-depth study of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM); extensive background in biomedicine (human anatomy, physiology and common pathologies); the science and techniques of acupuncture, and related therapies (fire cupping, Tui Na, Gua Sha); and therapeutics (nutrition, TCM food therapy, and movement therapy). I also have advanced training in orthopaedic acupuncture, and facial acupuncture.

Acupuncture is a safe and effective treatment for a variety of illnesses. I work with a wide range of conditions, including: acute and chronic pain (injuries, headaches, joint pain); mental health (stress, anxiety, depression); fertility, menstrual irregularities, peri/menopause; and digestive health. I also welcome clients seeking support with seasonal changes (seasonal affective disorder, allergies), or looking for deep relaxation and relief from muscle tension. Please e-mail me if you are wondering if acupuncture might be a good option for you.
ABOUT
Before studying acupuncture, I worked in the not-for-profit sector; acted as an advisor to Canada’s Environment Minister; and, lived in Europe and in Africa, working on health and environmental issues for United Nations and affiliate organizations. My approach to health care is informed by these experiences, and by my view that the social determinants of health (non-medical factors that influence health, such as the conditions and systems in which people are born, grow, live, and work), have a critical impact on health.
My lifelong interest in complementary medicine, and positive personal experiences with acupuncture led me to a career change. After having my son, I wanted more balance and connection with others. I also wanted to continue my work in health and social justice. Acupuncture provides all of this. It is a holistic, integrative medicine that considers all aspects of health including emotional health, environmental, and social factors.
In addition to my acupuncture practice, I am a volunteer community counsellor, trained in providing barrier free mental health support through Esquimalt Neighbourhood House. This training enriches my acupuncture practice, and I welcome clients who are struggling with mental health challenges.
In my personal time, I enjoy gardening and learning about plants and plant medicine (I have a certificate in Organic Master Gardening), and spending time in nature with family and friends.
